Why did you decide to become a CPA?
My car accident changed everything. Accounting had never been an option for me as a musician, but math and business had always intrigued me and my father has his MBA. I chose accounting because it seemed it would be the biggest challenge.

What's your favorite thing about being a CPA?
I've learned so much about a wide variety of business lines and clients. I've met so many wonderful people, connections that do not erode over time. Accounting is a core skill in the corporate world and has enabled my music career as well.

What advice do you have for people who are considering joining the profession?
Above all else, follow your dreams. If accounting is part of that dream or will supplement it, go for it.

When you're not at work, what are you likely to be doing?
Hiking, rock climbing, reading, dancing, skiing, or writing music.

Are there any special activities you participate in?
Modern dance, music.

What organizations are you involved with that would be of interest?
RADD - Recording Artists, Actors & Athletes Against Drunk Driving - founded by Paul McCartney
AWAKE Community- www.awakecommunity.org
Rock the Vote - www.rockthevote.com

What's your proudest moment?
The most emotional moment I've experienced was performing a benefit concert in honor of my little sister, Annie, who was killed by a drunk driver at only 19. It was a night I'll never forget.
