MSCPA’s Educational Foundation Awards Funds to 50 Students

BOSTON—May 18, 2017 — The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) announced today that its Educational Foundation reached its highest ever level of scholarship funding in 2017. Fifty accounting students were awarded up to $2,500 to further his or her accounting education at the MSCPA Believers and Achievers awards reception on May 17 at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy.

The mission of the MSCPA’s Educational Foundation is to inspire and support the next generation of CPAs in Massachusetts. The Educational Foundation has impacted hundreds of lives since it started over 10 years ago. Since 2006, the Foundation has awarded $858,500 in scholarships to college accounting students.

“Our organization is proud to support young people who will be the future of the CPA profession,” said Amy Pitter, president and CEO of the MSCPA. “Becoming a CPA opens up lots of opportunities in a variety of fields, and we’re excited to support students along their journey.”

MSCPA scholarships are available for both undergraduate and graduate accounting students who are attending a college or university in Massachusetts or attending a college or university out-of-state with a permanent address in Massachusetts.
