CAMP Program Visits the MSCPA and Boston
08.11.11– The sun was smiling and so were the 35 high school students who came to Boston with accounting on their minds. The youths visiting the Massachusetts Society of CPAs office on July 27th were part of the week-long Careers in Accounting and Management Professions (CAMP) program offered by the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst this past summer. Co-sponsored by the Society, this unique live-in opportunity enables high school students of diverse ethnic backgrounds to see first- hand what the accounting world is all about. The curriculum includes various workshops and activities that build and strengthen their leadership, communication and analytical skills. Read more....
NAAAP National Convention and Career Fair
08.10.11– The NAAAP National Convention is here in Boston August 11-13. The National Convention is a two and a half day scaled up version of leadership workshops tailored towards Asian Americans and features prominent speakers, national audience for networking, great food, FREE career fair with on-site interviews, and most importantly, tools to help you rise to the next level in your professional career.

08.09.11– Kaplan CPA Review will host a FREE five part webinar series on Passing the CPA Exam. This five part series will be spread out over the next seven months but will cover each topic in depth.
Local Teen Wins Four Major Accounting Medals at International Competition
07.07.11– Vanessa Pham, a junior at Pembroke High School, recently won four major medals at the 2011 DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) International Career Development Conference. To prepare for the event Pham trained under Bridgewater State University professor Dr. Patricia Bancroft. Like Rocky training under Mic, Bancroft drilled Pham several hours a week and introduced her to various accounting topics. Pham received guidance from other professors in the BSU accounting department in their particular specializations. Congratulations Vanessa and great work Patricia & the BSU accounting department.
MSCPA Fall Career Fair/Networking Expo Date Announced
06.30.11– The MSCPA Fall Career Fair/Networking Expo will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at the Sheraton Boston, 39 Dalton St, Boston. Meet employer representatives from public, private and governmental sectors at the MSCPA Career Fair/Networking Expo. The Career Fair & Networking Expo will begin at 2:00 for Professionals-in-transition, and 3:00 for Entry level and students.
