2011 Accounting Graduates Earning Average Salaries of $50,000
02.01.12– Accounting students graduating in 2011 earned starting salaries that exceeded those in nearly every other field except engineering and computer sciences.
The Latest Start Here, Go Places Competition Launches Tomorrow!
01.17.12– Tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 18, the AICPA is launching a new high school student competition—Project Innovation: The Start Here, Go Places.® Competition of Creative Excellence. This team-driven competition encourages high school students ages 15-19 to submit ideas for the site’s next digital feature. Winning ideas would include features that would help students in their journey to college and beyond. The first place student team will be awarded student scholarships, and their schools will also receive funds to use toward educational purposes.

New Score Release Timeline for the CPA Exam
10.04.11– Starting in the fourth quarter of 2011, the U.S. CPA Exam will begin releasing scores earlier and more predictably, the AICPA announced Wednesday. The change is a major shift in the CPA Exam experience and the strategies that prospective CPAs will employ as they work toward passing the exam. After the transition to computer-based testing, one of the most common requests received from CPA candidates was for faster score releases so they can start planning the next steps in their test-taking process
NFTE Elevator Pitch Challenge 2011
09.07.11– The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship is proud to announce the Elevator Pitch Challenge 2011, presented by E*TRADE.
We’re giving 33 young entrepreneurs from low-income communities the chance to pitch their own business concepts. They’ll compete for the chance to win the start-up capital they need to launch their ideas or advance their education. All they need is your vote.
Participants have each created a 60-second online video pitch for their self-started businesses -- and now it’s your turn to decide the winner.
Atrium Sees Increase in Accounting Job Placements
